About the Facilitators

Oscar Wolters-Duran (Blue Thistle Consulting)is an experienced trainer, facilitator and strategic planner who has worked with hundreds of clients in the fields of education, after school care, and the environment. Most recently, he led UC Berkeley’s Young Entrepreneurs at Haas, an innovative out-of-school time program focused on building academic and financial literacy skills through mentoring and engaging project-based learning. As an independent trainer he has delivered trainings on topics such as equity and diversity, youth development, project-based learning, fundraising, and time management. His highly rated trainings are interactive, engaging, and developed with the different ways adults learn in mind. He’s a graduate of U.C. Berkeley and the Institute for Nonprofit Consulting.

Grace Sizelove (Juma Ventures)  is a full time student at San Francisco State University. She is also currently working two jobs, one at Juma Ventures as the Learning and Evaluation Associate and another at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf as a Barista. Other extra curricular activities include active membership in a national women’s fraternity as well as various work within her communities.

Jason Wyman (Youth Worker: Collective) has been in the field of youth development for over 15 years. He started by supporting a youth philanthropy program in Minneapolis Unified School District and worked his way up to become the Educational Program Director at the OMI/Excelsior Beacon Center where he brought school, youth, and community together to address the academic, civic, and mental health needs of the student population. From there he launched into supporting the next generation of youth workers by creating trainings, resources, and networking opportunities through Beacon Academy, the Afterschool Corps, and the Youth Worker: Collective. He worked as the Director of School-Community Relations at Excelsior Middle School and directed the Change! Program, the community engagement program at EMS. Jason has been involved with the Youth Worker: Collective since 2003, and he is excited to be the first staff of the Youth Worker: Collective. When he is not advocating for youth and families, Jason enjoys cooking, reading, and hanging out with his husband.

This training is facilitated by Youth Worker: Collective, funded by DCYF as part of the AFATAC Leadership Tracks.
